Councilmember Grant also requested clarification on the Comprehensive Park ... <br />Plan and the vendors being reviewed for recommendation to the City Council. .. <br /> <br />Acting Mayor Larson commented on Planner Chaput's meeting with Mr. Cox the <br />following week regarding proposed development in the Neighborhood Business District <br />recently established along County Road D. <br /> <br />Council discussion ensued with Planner Chaput regarding the status of the Request for <br />Qualifications recently received for the Water Management Plan as part of the <br />requirements of the Metropolitan Council. Ms. Chaput advised Councilmembers that <br />three (3) firms had responded and were being reviewed by staff prior to making a <br />recommendation to the City Council. <br /> <br />Acting Mayor Larson turned the gavel over to Mayor Probst who arrived at 5:15 p.m. <br /> <br />DEREK HAMES. SHIKARI DESIGN. INC.. LOGO DESIGN <br /> <br />Derek Hames was present to present more finalized versions of the City's proposed new <br />logo. It was the consensus of the Council that a centered logo design was preferable. <br /> <br />After Council discussion, Mr. Hames was directed to return with paper samples with and <br />without lines separating information by moving text to bottom; and newsletter and sign <br />samples. Mr. Hames reminded Councilmembers of an upcoming meeting with the City <br />Events Task Force, and stated he would like to know the preferred logo prior to that ... <br />meeting, .. <br /> <br />TWIN CITIES ARMY AMMUNITION PLANT (TCAAP) <br /> <br />Mayor Probst provided an overview and historical perspective to Councilmembers on <br />issues related to the TCAAP property including, the Vento Re-Use Plan begun in 1994; <br />the City's Comprehensive Plan and proposed development opportunities; and proposed <br />development plans and licensing in existence or proposed by the Army National Guard. <br /> <br />Existing and/or potential development considerations identified by Mayor Probst <br />included, a MnDDT license center; MnDDT truck/maintenance site; Alliant TechSystem <br />site(s); private development; Army National Guard/Ramsey County/MnDDT and Arden <br />Hills maintenance facility; Arden Hills City Hall; Vento trail/park; Army National Guard <br />"license" property; federal government redevelopment; Steinberg efforts related to the <br />federal symposium; and the lack of interest from the Army Reserve at this time. <br /> <br />Mayor Probst sought a baseline understanding by consensus of the background of the <br />property; where the City stands now and prefers to be in the future; strategies; and the <br />communication process to be used, Mayor Probst advised Councilmembers of past <br />contacts being made directly through the Mayor and City Administrator, with the full <br />City Council made aware of issues, as they became more final.
