<br />. <br /> <br />tit <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />CITY OF ARDEN HILLS, MINNESOTA <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 3, 2001 <br />7:30 P.M. - ARDEN HILLS CITY HALL <br /> <br />DRAFT <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chair Steve Erickson called lhe meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br /> <br />Present were Chair Stephen Baker; Commissioners Therese Galatowitsch, Clayton <br />Zimmerman, Warren Pakulski and Dave Sand. <br /> <br />Steve Erickson and Terri Duchenes were absent. <br /> <br />Also present were Councilmember Beverly Aplikowski; Planner Jennifer Chaput, and <br />Recording Secretary Heidi Guenther. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES FROM PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING HELD ON <br />DECEMBER 6. 2000 <br /> <br />Cormnissioner Sand moved, seconded by Cormnissioner Zirmnemlan, to approve the <br />December 6, 2000 minutes as presented. The motion carried unanimously (5-0). <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF VICE CHAIR <br /> <br />Cormnissioner Galatowitsch moved, Commissioner Zimmerman seconded, to appoint <br />Dave Sand as Vice Chair for the year 2001 for the Arden Hills Planning Commission. <br />The motion carried unanimously (5-0). <br /> <br />PLANNING CASE #00-34 - METRO COMMUNITY CREDIT UNION - SIGN <br />VARIANCE - 3533 NORTH LEXINGTON A VENUE - PUBLIC HEARING <br /> <br />Chair Baker opened the public hearing at 7:36 p.m. <br /> <br />Ms. Chaput explained that the applicant is requesting a sign variance for an additional wall sign <br />at 3533 N. Lexington Avenue. <br /> <br />Ms. Chaput explained that in June of2000, Metro Cormnunity Credit Union made application for <br />two permanent wall signs at their new location within Arden Plaza, located at 3533 N. Lexington <br />Avenue. She indicated the sign permit application was approved for only one permanent wall <br />sign, as stated in the Sign Ordinance. Ms. Chaput indicated the applicant was told that a variance <br />application was required for the additional wall sign. She stated the application was made for a <br />variance in August but it was found incomplete but noted additional materials were submitted <br />and the application was found complete in November. <br /> <br />Ms Chaput noted the previous tenant at this location had two wall signs. She indicated the <br />building juts out in this area, creating two different faces to the building and the need for two <br />wall signs, facing in both directions. Ms. Chaput stated the applicant is requesting that an <br />
