The regulations ofthis section do not apply to this district. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Deadline for Al!encv Actions <br />The City of Arden Hills received the completed application for this request on November 21, 2000. <br />Pursuant to Minnesota State Statute, the City must act on this request by January 20, 2001 (60 days), <br />unless the City provides the petitioner with written reasons for an additional 60-day review period. <br />A letter was sent to the applicant, extending the review period to March 21, 2001. The City may with <br />the petitioners consent, extend the review period beyond the date. <br /> <br />Lastly, if the City denies the petitioners request, ....it must state in writing the reasons fur the denial <br />at the time that it denies the request". <br /> <br />Options <br />1. Lexington Avenue, for the following reasons: <br />1. Undue hardship does not exist because the application does not meet the spirit and intent of the <br />Ordinance; <br />2. The circumstances of the request are not unique to the property; and <br />3. The property can still be put to a reasonable use without the granting of a variance. <br /> <br />Planninl! Commission Recommendation <br />The Planning Commission reconnnends approval of Planning Case #00-34, variance for a second wall <br />sign for Metro Community Credit Union, located at 3533 N. Lexington Avenue, for the following <br />reasons: <br />I. The hardship is attributable to the physical surroundings of built structures and topography that <br />block views of this portion ofthe building; <br />2. The design of this portion of the building requires two signs for visibility from either entrance <br />onto the property; <br />3.
