The railroad
tracks close proximity to the intersection provides an added risk to motorists especially those making a
turn to the north or those heading south and waiting for the light to turn green. With the addition of the
Target grocery currently under construction, traffic along Lexington Avenue will continue to grow more
problematic.

Our community and neighborhood will not be well served by a high volume pharmacy business located so
very close to that intersection. Because of its proximity to the intersection, access to that proposed
business cannot include a left turn. This means that traffic exits will be limited to west and south flow.
Cars exiting south from the lot will enter traffic into congested traffic bounded closely by the railroad
track and the stoplight. Any traffic coming from the west will be tempted to make U turns in the parking
lots at Shannon Square or the businesses on the Northeast side of Lexington and County Road E.
Any traffic from the South will make U turns at either Shannon Square or at Arden Plaza, Mr. Movies, or
perhaps at the Holiday Inn.

This particular neighborhood is already well served by the Arden Plaza and Target pharmacies.
I hope that the Planning Commision and City Council will encourage Walgreen's to look for another
location where their contribution to our community will not come at such a great expense to the people
who live in and drive through the area.

Sincerely

.-{~)~

Timothy J.
