4KllblV
WAivoR

~7liof~~A-

4605 Prior Avenue. Arden Hills, Minnesota 55112 . (612) 636-0553

e

Febuary 1, 2001

Dear Arden Manor Residents,

In 1995, the Minnesota legislature requested the Minnesota Department of Transportation

(MNDOT) to survey noise conditions along freeways and expressways inside incorporated areas

in Minnesota and develop plans to cost effectively implement noise mitigation measures.

The study identified fifty-four (54) priority areas and ranked the segment of 35W from

Highway 96 north to the railroad bridge as being the fifth worst .in the state. Subsequently,

a funding plan was put in place to schedule noise wall construction projects with the tmp

seven metro priority areas.

MNDOT has scheduled an approximate 2000 foot long noise wall to be constructed along 35W

(the western boundary of Arden Manor Park) at a cost of $400,000.00 during the summer of

2001. The wooden noise wall would be constructed about fifteen (15) feet west of the exist~.

ing (and remaining) chain link fence and range in elevation from. twelve (12) to fifteen (15)

feet high. MNDOT has already.discussed preliminary plans with the owners of Arden Manor

Park and we have indicated our full support for this project. We believe that this improve-

Ament has been long needed and will improve the quality of life for. our

,.., The purpose of this letter is to inform the Arden Manor residents of

park residents.
this proposed improve-

ment and ask that you forward comments of either opposition or support to the City of.Arden

Hills by Febuary 16, 2001. The City of Arden Hills must communicate its support by reso-

lution to MNDOT before March 1, 2001 to allow the improvement to proceed. Your attention

to this matter would be most appreciated.

Very Truly Yours,
Arden Manor Park Owners

cc: City of Arden Hills

e

--- ""~. ~.'.
F ~..c; ... l} ~: ___:
