<br />The 2001 Capital Improvement Plan Budget for the replacement of the 1993 Toro <br />Groundsmaster 325 D is $26,500.00. This leaves a deficit of$I,640.00. Staff <br />anticipated this deficit and planned accordingly, so that the replacement Toro <br />Groundrnaster 325 D can be purchased and all budgetary obligations are met. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />The proposed new piece of equipment is a Toro Workman 3200. The cost of the new <br />Toro 3200 is $12,463.00. The utilities will include a remote hydraulic kit. The cost of <br />this kit is $379.00. The final total cost, including Sales Tax is $13,676.73. This leaves a deficit of $176. 73. Staff anticipated this deficit and pI armed <br />accordingly, so that the new Toro Workman 3200 can be purchased and all budgetary <br />obligations are met. <br /> <br />The total combined deficit for the purchase of the Toro Groundmaster 325 D and the <br />Toro Workman 3200 is $1,816.73. The deficit of$I,816.73 will be made up through <br />savings realized in CIP # 504-01 ofthe 2001 Parks Maintenance Capital Improvement <br />Plan Budget. CIP # 504-01 is the replacement of the Sampson Park playstructure. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />The budget for the replacement of the Sampson Park playstructure is $15,000.00. The <br />actual cost ofthe project is $11,930.00. This price was confirmed with the vendor, <br />Miracle Recreation Equipment Company, in their February 20, 2001 Work Order # <br />485584. This will produce savings of $3,070.00. <br /> <br />State Surplus Auction <br />Staff anticipates that the 1993 Toro Groundmaster will sell for approximately $2,500.00. <br />There is a 7% service charge for participating in the auction. The service fee on a <br />$2,500.00 sales price would be $175.00. This would result in a net profit of$2,325.00. <br />The net profit is considered revenue and is directed to the General Fund, and can not be <br />directed to defer the cost of the new Toro Groundrnaster 325 D. <br /> <br />Recommendation <br />Staff recommends that the City Council authorize the purchase of a new 2001 Toro <br />Groundmaster 325 D, at a cost not to exceed $28,140.00 and a new Toro Workman 3200, <br />at a cost not to exceed $ 13,676.73. Staff further recommends that the 1993 Toro <br />Groundmaster be placed in the spring session of the State Surplus Auction. <br /> <br />e <br />
