This design accepts sheet flow <br />from the lower end of a parking lot. Slotted curb spacers are used <br />as level spreaders to route sheet flow from the parking lot over <br />the 20 foot wide filter strip (and also keep cars from damaging the <br />strip). After being filtered over the grass strip, runoff enters <br />the surface of the trench.. A shallow berm is installed at the far <br />end of the trench to ensure t.hat runoff does not escape.
