Ford and Cl)mpany. It has cl)me 10 my attention lhat the report was prepared
using infonnation that is now obsolete. I do not believe thai the engineers who prepared Ihe report were
able 10 actually observe the tower in order to prepare an accurate analysis which I personally would
require.
We are in the process of having a new study made using accurate information. As )'Ou know the
tower was built under the standards e<isting at the time of its construclil)n in 1981. 'lJlC:,iQ\'~r_never
designed to withstand 'h inch I)rice under 60 mile per hour winds conditions. However, the tower as it
now slands, has withstood V, inch ice under the most severe \\;nter conditions in Minnesota during its
existence, The exact dates are nol available tl) me \\;thout some research, bull do recall thl)se ClCCUrTences
when we had electrical power outages due II) ice storms, There is a considerable safe!)' factor built into
the engineers analysis to avoid liabili!)'.
NI) one is more concerned about the struclural integrity of the tower than the owner. We have
been endeavoring to maintain the tower at ils optimum safe capaci!)' in accordance \\;th our engineers
recommendations.

Sincerely,

D.
