<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />CITY OF ARDEN HILLS, MINNESOTA <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 5, 2001 <br />7:30 P.M. - ARDEN HILLS CITY HALL <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chair Baker called the meeting to order at 7:35 p.m. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br /> <br />Present were Chair Steve Baker, Commissioners, Therese Galatowitsch, Stephen <br />Erickson, David Sand, and Clayton Zimmerman. <br /> <br />Absent: Terri Duschene and Warren Pakulski. <br /> <br />Also present were Councilmember Beverly Aplikowski, Acting Planner Michael Cronin, <br />City Planner Aaron Parrish, and Recording Secretary Kathleen Altman. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES FROM PLANNING COMMISSION WORKSESSION AND <br />MEETING HELD ON JULY 18. 2001 <br /> <br />Commissioner Zimmerman requested the following revisions/corrections: <br /> <br />On Page 2, paragraph numbered 1, to read: "and the impracticality of expanding..." <br /> <br />Commissioner Sand moved, seconded by Commissioner Galatowitsch, to approve the <br />July 18, 2001 Meeting and Worksession Minutes as amended. The motion carried <br />unanimously (5-0). <br /> <br />CASE #01-25 - GUIDANT CORPORATION. 4201 - 4233 N. Lexinl!ton Avenue - <br />Variance (sb,:n) - Public Hearinl! <br /> <br />Chair Baker opened the public hearing at 7:37 p.m. <br /> <br />Staffreviewed their report dated August 28, 2001 and recommended approval for the <br />reasons contained therein, noting applicants were required to preserve a clear vision <br />within the triangle be maintained at the Lexington Avenue locations, and the quality of <br />the landscape be similar to the landscaping on the other sites. Staff indicated there was <br />one letter received in opposition to the signage on the water tower. <br /> <br />Commissioner Sand asked if City staff had spoken with Philip and Jean Savoie regarding <br />their letter. Mr. Parrish stated he had spoken with Philip and Jean Savoie and they had <br />nothing to say other than what was in their letter. <br /> <br />Commissioner Sand asked why there were two different sized signs.
