<br />City of Arden Hills Draft Technology Policy <br /> <br />Employees are encouraged to seek <br />additional training and education in the <br />use of software applications and related <br />technology, Training should be pertinent <br />to the employees job responsibilities, and <br />to the extent possible, shouid take place <br />outside of the normal workday. <br /> <br />On a case-by-case basis, the cost of <br />training will be incurred by the City <br />depending on the availability of funds and <br />City needs. An employee must have prior <br />authorization from their supervisor prior to <br />enrollment of any training paid for by the <br />City. <br /> <br />SECTION VII. Enforcement <br /> <br />This policy is intended to be illustrative of <br />the range of acceptable and unacceptable <br />uses of the internet and e-mail systems <br />provided by the City of Arden Hills and is <br />not necessarily exhaustive. Questions <br />about specific uses should be directed to <br />the user's supervisor. <br /> <br />Prior to accessing the internet and e-mail <br />systems, employees shall review this <br />policy and sign the attached consent form. <br /> <br />The Director of Administration and/or the <br />employees supervisor will review alleged <br />or suspected violations of this policy and <br />clear violations may result in disciplinary <br />actions. Any user violating these <br />provisions or applicable local, state, or <br />federal laws is subject to immediate loss <br />or restrictions of internelle-mail privileges, <br />additional disciplinary actions, up to and <br />including termination of employment, <br />and/or criminal prosecution. <br /> <br />SECTION VIII. Consent Agreement <br /> <br />As a condition of employment, all City <br />employees must acknowledge that all <br />computer and electronic systems, <br />including but not limited to, electronic mail <br />and internet network activity are the <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />property of the City, and therefore, they <br />should not consider any activity to be <br />private. Prior to obtaining access to the <br />internet or e-mail systems, employees <br />must sign the consent form provided.
