The purpose of this memorandum is to summarize these various changes
with respect to overall revenues and expenditures.

Revised Budl!et Items - Detail
1. Recreation Fund No. 226 (with related changes to Community Services Fund No. 225 and
Public Safety Capital Equipment Fund No. 412):

. This item was approved as part of the consent agenda at the January 28, 2002 regular
Council meeting.

. The impact of this approved change was to increase the operating deficit in Recreation
Fund No. 226 from an adopted $147,632 to a revised $157,812.

. The increased subsidy need was in large part financed by an increased transfer from the
Community Services Fund No. 225 from an adopted $62,632 to a revised $70,062.

. There was also a corresponding reduction in the operating transfer from the Community
Services Fund No. 225 from an adopted $41,755 to a revised $30,027. This transfer
change is reflective of a revised funding split from the Community Services Fund No. .
225 from "60/40" to "70/30".

2. Fire Protection Services Department No. 42200 of General Fund No. 101:

. This item was approved as part of the consent agenda of the February II, 2002 regular
Council meeting.

. The approval for a capital contribution to accelerate the purchase of a fire tanker truck in
the amount of $29,839. The contribution commitment is evidenced by a "Contribution
Agreement" between the cities of Arden Hills, North Oaks, and Shoreview, and the Lake
Johanna Fire Department.
