<br />ARDEN HILLS REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES <br />OCTOBER 28, 2002 <br /> <br />8 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Mayor Probst stated the decision made to proceed with the pumping was the best <br />one from the information they had at the time. He stated he continued to support <br />taking the lake down to the level that was previously agreed to and noted he <br />believed they would continue to have issues with home damage and erosion, He <br />noted attempting to save the oak trees was a worthwhile effort and added to the <br />quality of life in the City. He indicated there was also a City park on the lake and <br />noted it was the City's duty to maintain the park for an residents. He stated in his <br />opinion, they appeared to be stopping this due to a coincidence with Mrs. <br />Jacobsen's home, He noted the problem was not going to go away and he <br />supported a permanent solution to this, He noted he would not be supporting the <br />motion. <br /> <br />Council Member Larson noted he was in agreement with Mayor Probst in that he <br />did not believe the facts showed that the pumping was affecting Mrs. Jacobsen's <br />home, but indicated they needed to have more information and to come up with a <br />permanent solution. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Council Member Aplikowski agreed with Council Member Larson's comment. <br /> <br />The motion carried (4-1). (Mayor Probst) <br /> <br />MOTION: Council Member Aplikowski moved and Council Member <br />Grant seconded a motion to direct staff to begin coJJecting <br />information and to come back with a feasibility study sometime <br />over the winter with a more permanent solution to this problem <br />other than just pumping. The motion carried unanimously (5- <br />0), <br /> <br />Mayor Probst recessed the meeting at 8:58 p.m. and reconvened the meeting at <br />9:05 p.m. <br /> <br />5.
