<br />. <br /> <br />Memorandum, Replacement of the Three Water Meters that Monitor the Water Flow <br />From the City of Roseville to the City of Arden Hills <br />Page 2 <br />Date: November 6, 2002 <br /> <br />Since the South Water Tower regulates the water level in the North Water Tower, all of the <br />residents of the City of Arden Hills will benefit from the installation of three new 8" ABB Mag <br />meters. City staff should be able to provide a consistent water volume and flow rate on a year <br />round basis throughout the entire City. <br /> <br />Costs and Timeline <br />The cost of three 8" ABB Mag meters, including installation and set up, will be $25,000. The <br />cost for electrical and software installation will be $13,000. Final total cost for this project, <br />including sales tax, will be $38,000. Staff is recommending that the funds for this project come <br />out of the Water Utility Enterprise Fund. The current balance in this Fund as of September 30, <br />2002, was $523,515. <br /> <br />Installation will take ten working days. If approved tonight, work can begin the week of <br />November 18,2002. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendations <br />City Staff and the City of Roseville staff recommend the replacemcnt of the three water meters <br />that monitor the water flow from the City of Roseville to the City of Arden Hills at a cost not to <br />exceed $38,000. Staff also recommends that the funds for this project come out of the Water <br />. Utility Enterprise Fund. <br /> <br />. <br />
