<br />RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />'. <br /> <br />CITY OF <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION OF SUPPORT FOR THE REUSE OF TCAAP PROPERTY <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Twin Cities Army Ammunition Plant (TCMP) encompasses approximately 2300 acres in the <br />northern 113 of the City of Arden Hills: and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, TCMP is currently owned and under the jurisdiction of the United States Department of Defense; <br /> <br />and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the property has not supported significant Department of Defense operations since 1972; and. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Arden Hills has identified the property as a key redevelopment priority for the community, <br />adjacent communities, and the region; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Arden Hills is actively seeking the release of 500 to 800 acres for commerciai, industrial, <br />residential, and recreational development consistent with the Vento Reuse Plan adopted in 1996: and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a map outiining the general area for potential acquisition is included as "Attachment A"; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the 1-35W Corridor Coalition Board of Directors has identified the site as a priority requiring legislative <br />action, intergovernmental cooperation, and support from one or more Coalition members; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of <br /> <br />has a concerted interest in the reuse of TCMP; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the release of land for development and recreational purposes has the potential to benefit the City of <br />; and, <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Councii of the City of , is supportive of actions and <br />poiicy statements outlined in City of Arden Hills Resolution #_ to facilitate the reuse of TCMP: <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of , supports the <br />City of Arden Hills' effort to acquire 500 to 800 acres for commercial, industrial, residential, and recreational development <br />consistent with the Vento Reuse Plan adopted in 1996. <br /> <br />Adopted this _th day of March, 2002. <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />City Administrator <br />
