<br />Databases (4) through (9) are used by the MPCA to track various categories of sites, Database (4) is a
<br />listing of Hazardous Waste Generators that have been involved in some stage of investigation and/or
<br />cleanup with the MPCA staff providing technical review of the investigation and any necessary remedial
<br />activities, Upon investigation, a number of these properties have been cleaned up or found to not require
<br />any cleanup work, Database (5) and (6) identify facilities that handle solid or hazardous wastes and may
<br />not have experienced any releases. For databases (7) and (8), releases of contaminants at particular sites
<br />may not be yet confirmed or file information is limited, Database (9) is a registry of properties at which a
<br />voluntary investigation has been or is being conducted, with MPCA staff providing technical review of
<br />the investigation and any necessary remedial activities, A number of these properties have been
<br />investigated and cleaned up or found to not require any cleanup work, Database (10) identifies sites that
<br />have been delisted from the Permanent List of Priorities. Database (1 ]) identifies sites that have been
<br />removed from CERCLlS by EPA, Database (]2) identifies closed landfill sites that are undergoing
<br />landfill cleanup. Database (] 3) identifies sites that are in some stage of investigation, These sites do not
<br />meet the parameters of the other categories listed, Database (14) contains sites where public funds must
<br />be expanded for investigation or cleanup to stimulate redevelopment. Lastly, database (]5) consists ofa
<br />list of sites where soil or groundwater contamination or the potentia] for contamination is present. These
<br />sites have been reviewed, but received no further action status because of no known risk to human health
<br />or the environment.
