Moore - Operations and Maintenance Director ~ <br /> <br />c !!&vu <br /> <br />TO: <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br /> <br />2002 - 2022 Parks, Trails, and Open Space Plan <br /> <br /> <br />FROM: <br /> <br />ENCLOSURES: <br /> <br />Resolution No. 02-26 <br /> <br />e Backl!round <br /> <br />The planning process for the City's first comprehensive Parks and Recreation Plan began at the <br />April 25, 2000 Parks, Trails & Recreation Committee (PTRC) meeting. <br /> <br />At its June 26, 2000 meeting, the City Council unanimously approved funding for a <br />comprehensive Parks and Recreation Plan. <br /> <br />At its December II, 2000 meeting, the City Council unanimously approved Ingraham & <br />Associates, Inc. as the vendor for this project. <br /> <br />In February of 2001, a public opinion survey concerning Parks, Trails, Recreation and Open <br />spaces was delivered to 3,987 Arden Hills households. Fifteen percent (15%) of the Arden Hills <br />residents polled responded to the survey. Four (4) community based meetings were held during <br />the week of July 9-12,2001. The purpose of these meetings was to directly seek input from the <br />residents. <br /> <br />A draft of the Parks, Trails and Open Space Plan was presented to the City council for review <br />and comments at its March 18, 2002 Wark Session. At that meeting, Council directed Staff to <br />prepare a resolution approving the 2002-2022 plan. <br /> <br />Recommendation <br /> <br />e Staff recommends approval of Resolution No. 02-26. adoptinl! the 2002-2022 Parks. Trails <br />and open space Plan. <br />
