<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL MEETillG MINUTES <br />APRIL 29, 2002 <br /> <br />15 <br /> <br />Councilmember Aplikowski stated Ramsey County League of ] ~ocal Governments had its meeting <br />last Thursday regarding how School Boards and Cities could work together. She stated this was a <br />very informative meeting. <br /> <br />Councilmembcr Aplikowski presented the tentative schcdule and budget for the Day in the Park. <br />She stated they were projecting a $36,000.00 budget. She statcd the City did not have a Day in the <br />Park Fund amount, and she requested Council for additional funding in thc amount of $7,500.00. <br />She stated they did have letters out to businesses for donations. <br /> <br />MOTION: Councilmember Aplikowski moved and Councilmember Rem seconded <br />a Motion to adoption of the budget for thc day in the park on ] une 22, <br />2002. Motion carried unanimously (5-0). <br /> <br />Mayor Probst requested staff come back to Council with potential donators to this event. <br /> <br />Councilmember Aplikowski requested a futurc Work Session discussion of the Day in the Park <br />event if this was going to be an annual event. <br /> <br />Councilmember Aplikowski stated the City cmblem would look nice on thc bottom of the Council <br />dais. <br /> <br />Councilmember Grant asked Operation and Maintenance Supervisor's job description had been sent <br />to LRA and asked for an update. Mr. Lynch replied all positions in the City wcre sent LRA and the <br />staff had made revisions bascd on their recommendations, which had been sent back to LRA. They <br />had not received a responsc back yet from LR..!\.. <br /> <br />Councilmembcr Grant requested the Maintenance Facility Task Force meetings be put on the <br />T cntative Meeting Schedule agenda. <br /> <br />Councilmember Grant congratulated Mr. Moore on this new position as the Operations and <br />Maintenance Director. <br /> <br />Councilmembcr Rem stated the Ncwsletter Committee was meeting \Vednesday morning to review <br />the May issue. Shc stated there was a Spring Clean up scheduled for May 18 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 <br />p.m. and they were looking for volunteers to assist at this event. <br /> <br />Mayor Probst stated the University of Minnesota Design Center was hosting a conference tomorrow <br />night and encouraged the Council mcmbers to attend. <br /> <br />Mayor Probst suggested Council entcr into negotiations with Chesapeake if they were still interested <br />in purchasing this piecc of property and requcsted staff move forward with a proposal for the next <br />Council meeting. Mr. Parrish stated Chesapeake had indicated they wcre probably not interested at <br />this point, given the uses supported by Council. <br />
