<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Supervises the maintenance and repair of City parks. <br /> <br />Performs other duties as apparent or assigned. <br /> <br />SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES <br /> <br />Directly supervises employees in the Operations and Maintenance Department. Carries <br />out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the City's policies and applicable laws. <br />Responsibilities include: training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; <br />assisting in evaluating performance; issuing oral reprimands; addressing complaints and <br />resolving problems. Responsibilities also include the ability to effectively recommend <br />hiring; rewarding; transferring; promoting; disciplining, suspending; demoting and <br />discharge of employees and the adjustment of grievances. <br /> <br />QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS <br /> <br />To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty <br />satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, <br />and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals <br />with disabilities to perform the essential functions. <br /> <br />EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE <br /> <br />High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and seven (7) years <br />progressively responsible related experience in street repair, water and sewer line repair <br />and maintenance, and building, grounds and vehicle maintenance, including a minimum of <br />two (2) years supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and <br />experience. <br /> <br />LANGUAGE SKILLS <br /> <br />Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance <br />instructions, repair manuals, blue prints, plan sheets, and procedure manuals. Ability to <br />prepare routine reports and correspondence. Ability to give and follow oral and written <br />instructions. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with supervisors, <br />co-workers, City staff, consultants and the general public. <br /> <br />MATHEMATICAL SKILLS <br /> <br />Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, <br />common fractions, and decimals.
