<br />. <br /> <br />City of Arden Hills <br />Job Description <br /> <br />POSITION: <br />DEPARTMENT: <br />REPORTS TO: <br /> <br />Finance and Personnel Assistant <br />Community Services <br />City Accountant <br /> <br />SUMMARY <br /> <br />Performs advanced level accounting and personnel duties in the direct control of the City <br />Accountant. <br /> <br />ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION <br /> <br />Participates as staff specialist in a wide variety of personnel functions such as employee <br />benefits, and employee benefit programs. Provides cost analyses of wage surveys and <br />salary rates. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Prepares and submits payment for payroll withholdings including: Federal/FICA, State, <br />PERA, ICMA, Credit Union, etc. <br /> <br />Prepares payroll summary for City Council approval. <br /> <br />Prepares quarterly and annual payroll reports. <br /> <br />Prepares W-2 and 1099 forms and distributes to employees, vendors, subcontractors and <br />federal and state agencies. <br /> <br />Prepares, processes and maintains City accounts payable records. <br /> <br />Codes and processes incoming invoices, purchase orders and claims, obtains approvais <br />and processes checks. <br /> <br />Prepares accounts payable claims summary for City Council approval. <br /> <br />Prepares and submits Minnesota Sales and Use Tax reports. <br /> <br />Maintains various schedules and spreadsheets including legal fees, engineering, <br />recycling, p & r credit vouchers, permit postage usage, etc. <br /> <br />Assists with general ledger journal entries. <br />. Prepares year-end reconciliations and accruals and assists with year-end audit schedules. <br />
