<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Prepares parks, playgrounds and other recreational facilities for use by the public <br />including layout and maintenance of softball and soccer fields, skating and hockey rinks, <br />tennis and basketball courts and other athletic facilities. <br /> <br />Assembles and inspects playgrounds and play equipment. <br /> <br />Operates and maintains irrigation systems. <br /> <br />Maintains trails, bridges, sidewalks and boulevards. <br /> <br />Participates in a 24 hour, 7 dayan-call rotation providing first response for emergencies <br />that occur during unstaffed hours. <br /> <br />Performs other duties as apparent or assigned. <br /> <br />QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS <br /> <br />To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty <br />satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, <br />and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals <br />with disabilities to perform the essential functions. <br /> <br />EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE <br /> <br />High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and two years related <br />experience. <br /> <br />LANGUAGE SKILLS <br /> <br />Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, maintenance and repair <br />manuals, mechanical and electrical drawings, and blue prints. Ability to maintain logs. <br />Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate with <br />supervisors, co-workers, city staff, consultants, and the general public. <br /> <br />MATHEMATICAL SKILLS <br /> <br />Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, <br />common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. <br />
