.

.

.

ARDEN HILLS REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES
JULY 29, 2002

4

Mr. Brown stated since they had received bids, and the bids came in a bit above
the engineer's estimated cost, the City would be bearing more of the cost for this
project.

Dennis Munson, 1144 Waldon Place, stated he had 85 fronage feet and it appeared
he was paying more than others and he asked for an explanation. Mayor Probst
explained this was a cul-de-sac lot and there was a different calculation used for
cul-de-sacs.

Mr. Munson asked if it was in the plan to dredge the ponds in the area to improve
drainage. The City Engineer indicated they would be looking at those ponds to
determine if there was a drainage problem. He stated there was some dredging
proposed as a part of this project.

Brenda Goldman, 1146 Waldon Place, asked what her front footage was. The City
Engineer stated it was 103.45 and the actual platted front footage was 47 to 50
feet.

Mayor Probst explained the logic behind the policy was that on longer cul-de-sacs,
the expense would be normalized among all of the property owners. He stated this
policy had been in place for years.

Ms. Goldman asked when the project would be started. The City Engineer stated it
would not start until August 19 with final completion of October 11.

Council Member Larson requested staff provide the residents with a copy of the
assessment policy.

Mr. Bujold requested after the drainage issue was addressed by the Operations and
Maintenance Department and there was a drainage problem that this be fixed at the
same time the street was tom up.

Mayor Probst closed the Public Hearing at 7:37 p.m.
