PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> <br />Carol Jacobsen. 1295 Wvncrest Court, stated she had lived in her home for 18 <br />years and indicated she found moisture in her lower level as well as a sewer smell <br />in her basement last week. She stated she had spoken with Tom Moore, who <br />investigated this, but could not locate the source of her problem. She noted since <br />the City had started pumping Karth Lake, she has had moisture in her home. She <br />stated this had not happened because of the rain and the wet summer. She stated it <br />was not a coincidence, that once they started pumping Karth Lake that she has had <br />moisture problems. <br /> <br />Mayor Probst asked if Ms. Jacobsen had any connection to the storm sewer and <br />asked if the City could dye test the sewer system. Mr. Moore replied they had done <br />a dye test today, but did not see any problems. He noted the sanitary and manhole <br />covers were flowing fine. He indicated there was no standing water in Ms. <br />Jacobsen's yard. <br /> <br />Ms. Jacobsen stated she did not have a logical explanation for what was going on, <br />but she did not believe it was a coincidence that they were pumping Karth Lake, <br />and now she had moisture problems. She stated even with all of the rain they had <br />this summer she had no problems with moisture until they started pumping Karth <br />Lake. She noted if they continued to pump Karth Lake over the next couple of <br />weeks and she continued to have problems, she would need to come back to the <br />City for help. <br /> <br />Council Member Aplikowski asked if any of her neighbors had moisture <br />problems. Ms. Jacobsen replied she had spoken with the neighbors, and the ones <br />she had spoken with stated their yards were very wet, but they did not have <br />moisture in their basements. <br /> <br />Pat Kramer. 1230 Wvncrest Court, stated 15 years ago his lower level got wet <br />like Ms. Jacobsen's basement due to the City pumping Karth Lake over a short <br />period of time. He stated he did not have a problem while they were pumping, but <br />shortly afterwards; there was a 5-inch rainfall that collapsed the storm sewer <br />
