Additionally, the planning <br />and policy work done by the North Metro I -35W Corridor Coalition over <br />the last few years will be utilized. <br /> <br />THE ADVISORY PANEL <br />Because community participation and communication are key to the suc- <br />cess of the master planning process, the Arden Hills City Council will <br />appoint a community-based panel to ensure an open and inclusive process, <br />facilitate the free and timely exchange of information, and guarantee the <br />participation of numerous key stakeholder groups throughout the planning <br />process. It is intended that the TCAAP Reuse Master Plan Advisory Panel <br />be comprised of representatives Arden Hills and the adjacent cities of <br />Mounds View, Shoreview and New Brighton; the Metropolitan Council; <br />Ramsey County; the city of Arden Hills Planning Commission and Parks, <br />Trails and Recreation Committee; Mounds View School District; Rice <br />Creek Watershed District; Sierra Club; Minnesota Center for Environmen- <br />tal Advocacy; Minnesota Amateur Sports Commission; state agencies such <br />as the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, the Minnesota De- <br />partment of Transportation, and the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency; <br />Commander's Representative from TCAAP; the National Guard; Congres- <br />sional Representatives for Rep. Betty McCollum, Sen. Dayton, and Sen. <br />Wellstone; and the development team and city staff. Applications for <br />community membership have already been received by the city and the <br />Mayor and City Council appointed citizens to the Advisory Panel at their <br />October 18, 2002 meeting. <br /> <br />ROLE OF THE ADVISORY PANEL <br />The TCAAP Reuse Master Plan Advisory Panel will serve as the primary <br />community-based working group during the course of this research, plan- <br />ning, and design process. All information, work products, findings, and <br />recommendations developed by the master planning team will be pre- <br />sented to the Advisory Panel for its review and comment. All of the infor- <br />mation then provided by the Advisory Panel, including comments and <br />concerns, will be delivered to the Mayor and City Council prior to their <br />review and consideration of the work completed in each phase of the <br /> <br />3 <br /> <br />Issue 1 <br />
