Highway 96 Taskforce Documents <br /> <br />Overview <br /> <br />Recently, staff had the opportunity to meet with Jim Tolaas, Ramsey County Public Works, to <br />discuss two upcoming County road improvement projects in Arden Hills. These two projects are <br />discussed in further detail below. <br /> <br />Hil!hwav 96 <br /> <br />The County would like to begin reconstruction of Highway 96 from Lexington Avenue to just <br />before Highway 10. In 1997, the City convened a Highway 96 Taskforce to provide input into <br />the reconstruction. The Taskforce's recommendations are attached for your review along with <br />the Council meeting minutes approving the Taskforce's recommendations. In anticipation of the <br />reconstruction, the County would like the Council's input on the following issues: <br /> <br />Trails <br /> <br />The preliminary plans indicate a trail running east/west along the entire south side of Highway <br />96. This is consistent with the Comprehensive Plan and the recently adopted Park, Trails and <br />Open Space Plan. The Taskforce has recommended an alternative route, however, that does not <br />
