STATE OF MINNESOTA COUNTY OF RAMSEY CITY OF ARDEN HILLS Resolution No. 84-41 HANDICAP SECTION 504 SELF-EVALUATION WHEREAS, recipients of Federal Revenue SharIng are requIred to perform a self-evaluation of all programs, employment practIces and facility accessibility by October 17, 1984 to determIne areas of noncompliance with handicapped discrImina- tion regulatIons, and . WHEREAS, a copy of the self-evaluation on Section 504 requirements (Handicap RegulatIons) Is attached. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the fol lowing Items of action wi I I be undertaken by the City of Arden HI lIs to conform to Federal (SectIon 504) HandIcap Regulations: GENERAL PROVISIONS I. Review results of self-evaluatIon with the CIty Human Rights CommissIon and The MInnesota State Counci I for the Handicapped. Notify the Minnesota Foundation for Better Hearing and Speech and National Federation of the BlInd of Minnesota about completion of self-evaluation and request Input. 2. Complete Building Access Survey In 1984. 3. Require all contractors to submIt a non-discrImIn- ation clause with specifications. 4. Inform the public of non-discriminatIon pollcy annually via local newspaper and radio station. Include In City newsietter a statement of non- discrimination. Provide documentation of non- discrimination used In local newspaper, radio station and newsletter to The Minnesota State Councl I for the Handicapped, Minnesota Foundation for Better Hearing and Speech and The National Federation of the Blind of MInnesota. 5. Provide copIes of Councl I agendas, employment advertIsements, CIty Newsletter, Park and Recrea- tion ActIvities Brochures and other pertinent InformatIon to The MInnesota State Council of the HandIcapped, Minnesota Foundation for Better Hear- ing and Speech and National Federation of the Blind of MInnesota. . 6. Notify the public, The MInnesota State Council of the HandIcapped, Minnesota Foundation for Better , Hearing and Speech and National FederatIon of the Blind of Minnesota of remedIal steps Implemented to comply with Regulations. EMPLOYMENT PRACTICES I. Indicate on employment advertisements the non- discrimination policy of the City. 2. Provide job descriptions for personnel which provide major objectives, tasks, budget responsi- bilities, relationships, supervisory authorIty, knowledge and ski lis, work environment and physi- cal requirements. 3. Annually notify employees and also future appli- cants that the City wi II make reasonable accom- modations to qualified disabled employees or app II cants.
