<br />.....~....~. <br /> <br />.-,..- <br /> <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br />$'10..- <br />Resolution No. 83-CO <br /> <br />Resolution Opposing An Increase In the <br />Number of Managers for the Rice Creek <br />Watershed DistrIct <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, MInnesota Stetutes Section 112.42, <br />SubdivisIon 3a, governIng metropolItan watershed dIstrIct <br /> <br />boards of managers, was amended In 1982 to allow an Increase <br />In the number of managers from fIve up'to a maximum of nine, <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the MInnesota Water Resources Board has <br /> <br />requested Input on the Issue of whether the number of managers <br /> <br />of the Rice Creek Watershed DIstrIct should be Increased, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, an Increase In the number of managers would <br /> <br />result In an Increase In costs, and <br />WHEREAS, generaliy a smaller body has more consIstent <br /> <br />attendance, and <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the present board of fIve managers provIdes <br />sufficient Input, and <br />WHEREAS, the fIve-member board promotes better under- <br />standing of the entIre distrIct Instead of specIal Interests <br />wIth a larger board, and <br />WHEREAS, the five-member board presently manages the <br />affaIrs of the dIstrIct very well, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Arden Hills <br />City CouncIl opposes any Increase In the number of managers of <br />the RIce Creek Watershed District. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of thIs ResolutIon <br /> <br />be forwarded to the Minnesota Water Resources Board and the <br /> <br />Rice Creek Watershed DistrIct. <br />Passed by the Arden Hills City Council thIs 29th day <br />of August, 19B3. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />Ck/ddT~fJ2id / <br /> <br />Charlotte McNlesh <br />Clerk AdmInIstrator <br /> <br />W~-h/~,-/ <br /> <br />Robert L.
