<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> <br />CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 86-38 <br /> <br />SUPPORTING CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW'S POSITION REGARDING <br />WILLIAMS PIPELINE <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a petroleum products pipeline, owned by Williams <br />Pipeline Company, exploded on July 8, 1986, in the City of Mounds <br />View, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, two residents of the City of Mounds View died, <br />another resident was seriously injured, and considerable property <br />damage occurred as a result of the explosion, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View deems it necessary that <br />the existing pipeline located in Mounds View be tested, and if any <br />defects are found as a result of the testing procedures, that the <br />pipeline be replaced, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Arden Hills supports the City of <br />Mounds View in its concerns for the protection of the general public <br />health, safety and welfare of its citizens, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Arden Hills has the same concerns <br />for the safety and welfare and general public health of the citizens <br />of Arden Hills. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Arden Hills <br />Council supports the City Council of Mounds View in its request that <br />the United States Department of Transportation, Office of Pipeline <br />Safety, require that the pipeline be tested for defects and replaced <br />if defects are found as the result of the prescribed tests. <br /> <br />Adopted by the Arden Hills Council this 28th day of <br />August, 1986. <br /> <br />~~~- <br /> <br />..................- <br /> <br />Robert L.
