<br />I <br /> <br />STATE OF MINNESOI'A <br />c!)UNT'l OF RAMSEY <br />CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br /> <br />RESOLUrION NO. 90-36 <br /> <br />RESOLUrION AUIHORIZING THE CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br />'IO JOIN AN ENVIRONMENrIIL CmES CDALITION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Arden Hills recognizes its leadership role in protecting the <br />envirornnent of those people living and working within the city, and; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City recognizes that there is a need for goverrunental bodies to act <br />quickly on many of the envirorunental problems facing them; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City recognizes that local environmental initiatives often have a <br />more irmnediate linpact on the environment than those initiatives passed at higher <br />levels of government; and <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City understands that there is a need by b.1siness, other <br />governmental bodies, and the public for uniform regulations across the state; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City believes that one way to obtain this type of uniform regulation <br />is to work closely with other cities in such a way as to coordinate the <br />envirornnental legislation passed in these cities; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City also believes that this type of inter-city cooperation may act <br />to stlinulate state envirorunental legislation dealing with the toPics address by <br />the cities and in a form acceptable to the cities. <br /> <br />NeW, TIIEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of Arden Hills authorizes <br />the City to join an environmental cities coalition, to participate in its <br />decision making processes, and to share information with other group members; and <br /> <br />BE IT FURIHER RESOLVED, that the city Council understands that, although the <br />decisions of the coalition are not binding to the city, the city will actively <br />participate in the coalition's activities to the extent it considers appropriate. <br /> <br />Adopted by the Arden Hills City Council this 24th day of Seote.mber ,1990. <br /> <br />CITY c!)UNCI~_ <br />CITY OF ARDp HILLS <br />~ <br /> <br /> <br />/' <br />I; <br />~/ <br /> <br />By <br />Thomas R. <br /> <br />A'lTEST: <br /> <br />I Garyh:t ~er~ty Administrator <br />
