<br />I < <br /> <br />"", <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br />RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 89-36 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION SUPPORTING HAZARDOUS MATERIALS TRAINING PROGRAM <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Federal OSHA rules, now temporary, but to be made permanent on <br />March 6, 1990, establish training requirements which must be met by <br />emergency response agencies that may respond to hazardous materials <br />incidents; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Lake Johanna Volunteer Fire Department is the agency that <br />would respond to hazardous materials incidents within the City of Arden <br />Hills; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Lake Johanna Volunteer Fire Department has indicated a <br />willingness to form a hazardous materials response team in coordination <br />with the New Brighton and Roseville Fire Departments; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the preliminary plan for equipping and training the hazardous <br />materials response team calls for: <br /> <br />a. The training of not more than 35 members, drawn proportionately <br />from among the three departments. <br /> <br />b. <br /> <br />Phase I training to be completed by December 31, 1989 at a cost <br />of $500 per person. <br /> <br />c. Phase II training to be completed by December 31, 1990 at a cost <br />of $500 per person. <br /> <br />d. The equipping of a response vehicle at a cost of less than <br />$10,000. <br /> <br />e. The costs of training and equipment to be shared proportionately <br />among the three fire departments. <br /> <br />f. The costs incurred by the Lake Johanna Volunteer Fire Department <br />to be shared proportionately among the three cities it serves. <br /> <br />g. The City of New Brighton to provide a response vehicle at no <br />cost; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Arden Hills City Council deems it to best serve the interests <br />of its eitizens to train and equip a hazardous materials response team as <br />outlined herein. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Arden Hills City Council supports <br />the efforts to create, train and equip a hazardous materials response team <br />as described herein, expresses a willingness to bear its proportionate <br />
