<br />. <br />, <br />. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br />RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 89-15 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION OF SUPPORT FOR DEVELOPMENT OF MINNESOTA OVAL <br /> <br />for <br />the <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council has determined that there is a need <br />a 400 meter artificially-refrigerated Speedskating and Bandy Rink in <br />Metropolitan area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Minnesota Amateur Sports Commission has endorsed and <br />recommended this to be included in the Minnesota State Bonding Fund; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Roseville Ad Hoc Citizens' Speedskating Committee has <br />selected a site in the City of Roseville; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this site is strategically located in the Metropolitan area <br />with excellent access from I-35W, I-35E, and TH 36; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the largest concentration of speekskaters is in the City of St. <br />Paul and northern suburbs with this area producing a majority of the speed- <br />skaters currently on the national team, and there are few metropolitan <br />facilities in the northern suburbs as compared to other areas. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Arden Hills City Council <br />supports the City of Roseville's proposal to locate the Minnesota Oval, a <br />national multi-use, recreational facility, in their community; and <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this Resolution be provided to <br />the City of Roseville. <br /> <br />Adopted by the City Council of the City of Arden Hills this 13th day of March, <br />1989. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br /> <br />-rtM till-- <br /> <br />Thomas R.
