<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> <br />CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 87-65 <br />PROCLAIMING THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER TO BE EPILEPSY MONTH <br />IN THE CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, there are more than 100,000 Minnesotans <br />with some form of epilepsy; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Epilepsy is the second most common <br />neurological disfunction or physical impairment, not a disease <br />but a disorder of the nervous system; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sixty percent of those persons who have <br />epilepsy are elementary school children or younger which is <br />approximately one child in every second classroom; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Early diagnosis and attention to the <br />social and neurological aspects of epilepsy will afford people <br />better control; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, There continues to be a need for improved <br />education and more information regarding public attitudes toward <br />understanding and accepting those persons with epilepsy, <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Arden <br />Hills Council hereby proclaims the month of November as EPILEPSY <br />MONTH IN THE CITY OF ARDEN HILLS, MINNESOTA and encourages the <br />residents of our City to increase their awareness of the needs <br />of those who have epilepsy. <br /> <br />Passed by the Arden Hills City Council this 12th <br />day of October, 1987. <br /> <br />t?{/? / . <br />/ #-~,:j!.p.-zJ.f~~ <br />Robert L.
