<br />. <br /> <br />CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br />RAMSEY COUNTY <br /> <br />t <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 96-66 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION SETTING THE GOALS FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE LOCAL <br />HOUSING INCENTIVES ACCOUNT PROGRAM UNDER THE METROPOLITAN <br />LIVABLE COMMUNITIES ACT <br /> <br />CALENDAR YEAR 1997 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Arden Hills has elected to participate in the Local Housing Incentives <br />Account Program (the Program) under the Metropolitan Livable Communities Act (the Act) for <br />the calendar year 1997 as demonstrated by the adoption of Resolution #96-63 on November 12, <br />1996; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Arden Hills, South of Highway 96, is fully developed and that the <br />potential for the development of any meaningful number of new residential units lies with the <br />redevelopment of the land North of Highway 96, the Twin Cities Army Ammunition Plant <br />(TCAAP); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City's participation in the Program is linked to the residential component of the <br />redevelopment of TCAAP; and <br /> <br />. WHEREAS, the City's housing goals in the Program are to be directly linked to the creation of <br />new residential units in TCAAP; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the basis for these goals will be the City's Land Use Plan (adopted 1982), since the <br />efforts to produce a new land use plan for TCAAP have not been completed at this time; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Arden Hills supports: a balanced housing supply, with housing <br />available for people at all income levels; accommodation of all racial and ethnic groups in the <br />purchase, sale, rental, and location of housing within the community; provision of a variety of <br />housing types for people in all stages of the life-cycle; a community of well-maintained housing <br />and neighborhoods, including ownership and rental housing; housing development that respects <br />the natural environment of the community while striving to accommodate the need for a variety <br />of housing types and costs; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Arden Hills will prepare and submit a plan to the Metropolitan Council, <br />indicating the actions it will take to carry out the housing goals; <br /> <br />. <br />
