<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br />RAMSEY COUNTY <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 95-39 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE EXECUTION OF A JOINT POWERS <br />AGREEMENT FOR RECYCLING ROAD MAINTENANCE MATERIALS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the cities of Arden Hills, Falcon Heights, Lauderdale, Little Canada, New Brighton, <br />Roseville, Shoreview, White Bear Lake, Vadnais Heights, the town of White Bear and the County <br />of Ramsey successfully applied to Board of Government Innovation and Cooperation for grant <br />funds; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, each ofthe parties uses a variety of materials such as sand for ice control, small <br />gravel for sealcoat repair on summer, and soil products for median, boulevard and park <br />application; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in the past, each party has worked separately in purchasing, using and disposing of <br />those materials after use, often using valuable land fill space at high tax payers expense; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the project permits the parties work together ro re-use roadway materials which <br />will result in a significant reduction of costs and reduction of the use of land fill space; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Government Innovation and Cooperation awarded these communities <br />a grant in the amount of $94, 179 to purchase equipment for initiating the project; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the success of the project shall require mutual coordination and cooperation by and <br />between the parties to ensure the most efficient and effective service. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Arden Hills, <br />Minnesota: <br /> <br />I, The City Administrator is directed to enter into a Joint Powers Agreement to provide for <br />the recycling of road maintenance materials. <br /> <br /> <br />PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY C <br />THIS 30TH DAY OF MAY, 1995. <br /> <br />E CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />BRIAN"'F SINGER, CITY ADMINISTRATOR <br />
