<br />. <br /> <br />CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br />RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 94-28 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION SUPPORTING DARE "BIKE-A-THON" DAY <br />APRIL 30, 1994 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Arden Hills has determined it <br />would be in the best interest of the City to support the DARE (Drug Abuse <br />Resistance Education) Bike-a-thon program; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the DARE Bike-a-thon program raises money for the DARE (Drug <br />Abuse Resistance Education) program which is an early prevention program <br />and educates children in the dangers of drugs and aims to prevent drug <br />usage by building self-esteem in children so that they can say "no to <br />drugs". These Bike-a-thons have been very successful in raising money for <br />this important program. The past two Bike-a-thons have each raised <br />approximately a net amount of $20,000.00 for the program; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Rotary indicates its willingness to continue to support <br />the program in providing for volunteer resources and in assisting with the <br />planning efforts of the Bike-a-thons; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City has continually supported the DARE program by <br />~elping support a Ramsey County Sheriff Deputy as the DARE officer to the <br />~Jlementary schools and the City wishes to expand its support for the DARE <br />program by supporting the Bike-a-thon; and <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of <br />Arden Hills to hereby proclaim April 30, 1994 as "DARE Bike-a-thon" day. <br /> <br />ADOPTED by the Arden Hills City Council this 14th day of March, 1994. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br /> <br />~~p1 ~ <br /> <br />Thomas R.
