B <br /> <br />CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br />RAMSEY COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 98-30 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CHANGES <br />TO THE EMPLOYEE BENEFIT PROGRAM <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 19 of the Arden Hills Municipal Code identified those benefits provided to <br />the employees of the City of Arden Hills; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has discussed tllose benefits and found that the short-term <br />disability and life insurance benefits as currently provided are not competitive within the market; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to provide the addition of long-term disability insurance to <br />its employees; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City solicited quotes from various carriers to provide these benefits; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City has evaluated these quotes and determined that changes to the benefit <br />program are appropriate. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Arden Hills, <br />Minnesota: <br /> <br />The City of Arden Hills will, at its cost, provide each non-union employee the following <br />benefits: <br /> <br />1. A Life Insurance benefit in the amount of one (1) x salary; <br />2. A Long-Term Disability Insurance benefit; <br />3. A Short-Term Disability Insurance benefit. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Administrator is hereby directed to provide notice <br />to the Local 49 for the purpose of re-opening the current labor agreement in order to discuss <br />these items. <br /> <br /> <br />PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL <br />THIS 23RD DAY OF FEBRUARY, 1998. <br /> <br />EN HILLS <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br />
