City Administrator Position Description <br /> <br />Overview <br /> <br />With the vacancy at the City Administrator position, the Council needs to think about how it <br />would like to fill the vacancy. Generally, the Council has two options: <br /> <br />1. Fill the position using the standard hiring process for all employees <br /> <br />Using this method, the following would generally be done: <br /> <br />)> Preparation and distribution of a position announcement to be distributed/advertised <br />in the local newspaper, Pioneer Press, Star Tribune, League of Minnesota Cities <br />Bulletin, League of Minnesota Cities website, Minnesota City Managers Association, <br />and other appropriate means. <br /> <br />)> Council establish qualities, criteria, and experiences they would like to see in a City <br />Administrator. <br /> <br />)> The Councilor some type of Selection Committee would conduct an initial screening <br />of applicants and select those they would like to interview. <br />
