Our concern does not stem from the fact that the <br />streets in our neighborhood need the work that is proposed. Rather our objection is based <br />on how the assessment is allocated. <br /> <br />.HelP me understand the rational behind why my next-door neighbor is assessed <br />approximately $1,000 less, yet they have more street frontage (6 feet more according to <br />your map). While I recognize that our lot is larger (approximately 2,200 square feet), I <br />still fail to see the rational for the assessment difference. <br /> <br />Again, I must thank you Tom for the assistance you have given me to this point. While I <br />wanted to but was unable to attend the City Council meeting this past Monday evening, I <br />believe this issue must be addressed to determine a more fair allocation of the cost. <br /> <br />Recognizing that for a young family, producing nearly $6,000 for street reconstruction is <br />quite a burden, especially with the economy and business climate we are in.
