L~~ I MAR 2 5 2003 I I CITY OF ARD~ Re: Objection to Proposed Assessment of 1226 Ingerson Rd for Street Pavement Improvement As the owners of the property at 1226 Ingerson Rd., we wish to provide written objection to the method used by the City of Arden Hills to determine the front footage of our property fur the street pavement improvement assessment of the 2003 PMP project for the reconstruction and overlay of City streets in the Karth Lake East and Ingerson neighborhoods. The City staff has calculated the assessment amount to be assessed against our property in their March 7,2003 letter as follows: Property ID Address Footage Rate Assessment Amonnt 343023420026 1226 In~erSOll RD 189.9 $51 9,684.90 We believe the method used by the City's staff to determine footage does not comply with the definitions and calculations in the City's Assessment Policy, which a~ly to our lot. The primary oversight in the City's calculation in the March 7 letter is that the calculation failed to take into account that our lot's depth averages less than 130 ft. According to the City's Assessment Policy, a lot with an average depth less than 130 ft. is classified as a "shallow lot". A shallow lot's footage calculation uses a specific formula to determine assessment footage, which differs from the formula used by the City's staff.
