e

~

-

Ramsey County Public Works
Special Use Permit

Attachment 5

In response to a comment made: by a city council member at the work session held on February _,
regarding the resultant vie\v from the co~mcil chamber created by the Salt/Sand Tensile Fabric
Structure, \VC offer an artistic sketch illustrating the vie\v.

It is the design team's opinion that the white tensile fabric proposed \\/111 be::;t blend \\'1th the color of
the sky'; foliage during \varmer months \vill screen the building in the foreground and at the Public
\\?orks property line. See landscape plan for evidence of pbnr/tree density at property lines.

The building height is due to the funcriornl demands placed upon the building (i.e. vertical c1car;1nces
required for tandem axle dump trailers to raise fully and cnd-loader tractors to load trucks), and
capacity rccluircd for a single-purchase-for-scason of material (20,000 tons).

This building is very standard for !\fnDOT facilities throughout the state. The vertical dinlenslons
are typical manufacture(s) standards. See '-PO' numbered sheers for elevation 1 and section of
proposed building.
