Sanitary Sewer Lateral Benefits <br />Lateral benefit may be provided by connection to trunk, subtrunk or lateral <br />pipes. The calculation oflateral benefit from a trunk or subtrunk pipe will <br />be based on the cost of an eight inch (8") pipe along the same alignment at <br />a depth adequate to provide services to the abutting properties. <br /> <br />7. Infrastructure Rehabilitation Proiects <br />Any project or portion of a project that reconstructs an existing sanitary <br />sewer facility. A rehabilitation project may occur on the existing <br />alignment of the sewer line or on a new alignment, thus allowing the <br />existing line to be abandoned or its status downgraded (i.e., trunk or <br />subtrunk to lateral). <br /> <br />B. Determining Sanitary Sewer Assessment Rates <br /> <br />1. Sanitary Sewer Interceptor Rates <br />All properties that lie within the approved Servicc District shall bear the <br />cost of sanitary sewer interceptor projects. The costs shall be spread <br />equally, based on a gross area basis within the Service District, and will be <br />known as an interceptor assessment. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />2. Sanitary Sewer TrunklSubtrunk Rates <br />The lateral and building service assessments described below will be <br />deducted from the total improvement cost to be assessed. The amount <br />remaining after said deductions will be assessed on a gross area basis to all <br />propertied within the Service District, and will be known as a trunk <br />assessment and/or subtrunk assessment. <br /> <br />3. Sanitary Sewer Lateral Rates <br />The building service assessments described below will be deducted from <br />the total improvement cost to be assessed. The amount remaining after <br />said deductions will be assessed by the following method. The resulting <br />assessment will be known as a lateral benefit assessment. <br /> <br />Each assessable unit shall be assessed as follows: <br /> <br />. R-] and R-2 residential lots at 50% of the total proiect cost <br />. All other land uses at 100% of the total proiect cost <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />4. Sanitary Sewer Buildinl! Service <br />The assessmcnt rate for each size of building service; four inch (4"), six <br />inch (6"), or eight inch (8") shall be determined by adding all the costs <br />associated with each size of service and dividing by the total number of <br /> <br />2003 Assessment Policy Manual- Page 8 <br />
