Bids were <br />received from three (3) contractors. A bid tabulation was performed to verify the total bid amounts and all <br />bids were found to be correct. A copy of the bid tabulation is attached for your information. <br /> <br />Pearson Bros., Inc. submitted the low base bid with a total base bid amount of $33,300.64. The <br />average bid prices is approximately 16% less than the Engineer's Estimate and reflects an <br />extremely competitive bid in the current marketplace. <br /> <br />Recommendation <br />The Engineer has not worked with Pearson Bros., Inc. but has checked and been given positive <br />references. The Engineer is confident that Pearson Bros., Inc. is capable of successfully <br />completing the work included with this project. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />The City Engineer, therefore, recommends the award of the 2003 Seal Coating Project to Pearson <br />Bros., Inc. for the total amount of $33,300.64.
