PLANNING <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />7. <br /> <br />OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE <br /> <br />A. <br /> <br />Award Bid: 2003 Sealcoating Project <br /> <br />Mr. Brown stated bids were received and opened for the 2003 sealcoating <br />project. Three bids were received, with the lowest bid submitted by Pearson <br />Bros., Inc. in the amount of $33,300.64. He noted he had not worked with <br />Pearson Bros., Inc., but had checked their references. He indicated he was <br />confident that Pearson Bros., Inc. was capable of successfully completing <br />the work included with this project and recommended the award of the 2003 <br />sealcoating project to Pearson Bros., Inc. <br /> <br />MOTION: Councilmember Larson moved and Councilmember Rem <br />seconded a motion to award the 2003 sealcoating project to <br />Pearson Bros., Inc. in the amount of $33,300.64. The motion <br />carned unanimously (5-0). <br /> <br />B. <br /> <br />Award Bid: 2003 PMP Karth Lake EastJIngerson Neighborhood <br /> <br />Mr. Brown stated bids were received and opened for the 2003 PMP Karth <br />Lake East/Ingerson Neighborhoods. He noted three bids had been received <br />and Arndt Construction Company, Inc. submitted the lowest base bid, with a <br />total base bid amount of $1,903,536.10. He noted the low bid was <br />approximately $178,500 less than the engineer's estimate. He further stated <br />he still 'recommended the reconstruction of Ingerson Court for the reasons as <br />noted in his June 4, 2003 report. He indicated URS had experience working <br />with Arndt Construction Company, Inc. and noted he was confident that <br />Arndt Construction Company, Inc. was capable of successfully completing <br />the work included in this project. He recommended awarding the bid to <br />Arndt Construction Company, Inc. for the total amount of$I,903,356.1O. <br />
