PUBLIC INQUlRIES/INFORMA TIONAL

Mary Ann Lindberg, 1695 Brueberry Lane, expressed concern regarding the
closure of the Arden Hills Library. She stated the library was very important to
the residents. She indicated many residents of the City had worked hard to
support the library and the continuing education the library offered. She requested
the City support a campaign to save the library. She indicated the existing library
should not be closed until the new library was opened. She stated her husband
was the current President of the Friends of Ramsey County Library and they could
be reached at 651-633-7349.

Councilmember Rem suggested Mrs. Lindberg prepare handouts regarding any
meetings and where the residents could write or call to express their concern about
the library closing.

Councilmember Holden requested Mrs. Lindberg leave the information with the
Council, and she would see if it could be included the City Newsletter.

Councilmember Larson requested staff prepare a resolution from the City
expressing its concern regarding the library closure.

Council member Grant agreed with Councilmember Larson's suggestion and
wanted to encourage the County Commissioners to leave the library open until the
future of the new library could be assured.

Mr. Lindberg, 1695 Brueberry Lane, stated they had just completed giving
away and disposing of the books that were in the No. St. Paul Library, which had
closed.
