<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />ARDEN HILLS REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES <br />JULY 28,2003 <br /> <br />5 <br /> <br />Variance (Zoning Ordinance), subject to the condition as <br />noted in staffs July 28, 2003 report. <br /> <br />Councilmember Rem noted there was considerable discussion at the Planning <br />Commission regarding not setting a precedence of using parkland in lieu of a <br />setback area. She indicated applicants were requesting an increase of an already <br />existing non-conforming use. She stated she would not oppose the motion, but <br />wanted to note that this was an issue with the Planning Commission. <br /> <br />The motion carried unanimously (5-0). <br /> <br />B. Planninl! Case No. 03-17: Beaudrv Variance <br /> <br />Mr. Hellegers stated the applicant was requesting a variance to allow construction <br />of a garage five feet from the west property line. He indicated the Planning <br />Commission recommended approval as submitted. <br /> <br />MOTION: Councilmember Grant moved and Councilmember <br />Holden seconded a motion to approve Planning Case No. <br />03-17: Patricia Beaudry, 1860 Glenpaul Avenue, <br />Variance (Zoning Ordinance) as submitted. The motion <br />carried unanimously (5-0). <br /> <br />7. OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE <br /> <br />A. Karth Lake: Permanent Pumpinl! Option <br /> <br />Mr. Moore stated staff recommended a permanent pumping solution to the Karth <br />Lake high water level. Excess water pumped from Karth Lake would be routed to <br />Valentine Lake via a storm sewer pipe that extends to the existing storm sewer <br />through the Guidant property. He noted the project cost was estimated at $70,000. <br />He indicated the permanent pumping solution would have minimal impact on the <br />neighborhood. <br /> <br />Mr. Brown summarized what the system would look like and how it would <br />function. <br />
