Tolaas with Ramsey County will provide a presentation of Ramsey County's preliminary
plans and approach with regard to the 2005 reconstruction of Lexington Avenue. Currently, the
County is proposing to reconstruct from Highway 96 to just before Cummings Park Drive. For
reference, Council will note the following:

~ An additional lane in each direction will be added within the construction area
~ A continuous left turn lane will be maintained
~ Right turn lanes into the Karth Lake East Neighborhood will be included
~ A signal will be proposed at Victoria. In the past, residents of the Karth Lake East
Neighborhood have indicated a desire to have a signal placed at Amble Road. Ramsey
County staff have done a preliminary evaluation and determined that the most appropriate
place for a signal is at Victoria.
~ There willbe some City expense associated with right-of-way acquisition
~ The County is currently evaluating options for the Karth Lake stabilization wall.

After preliminary input is received from Shoreview and Arden Hills, a neighborhood meeting
will be scheduled sornetime in late fall or early 2004. In addition to the Lexington project, Jim
Tolaas would also like to have a discussion on Highway 96 and Highway 10.

Requested Action

I.
