<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 341 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING A DEVELOPMENT MORATORIUM <br />RELATING TO THE CONSTRUCTION OF BOATHOUSES <br /> <br />The Arden Hills City Council ordains that Section 10 (Subd. 1), and its subdivisions shall be <br />added to the Arden Hills Zoning Ordinance (as identified in Ordinance No. 291, adopted <br />April 12, 1993, and amended on November 30, 2000) to read as follows: <br /> <br />Subd. I <br /> <br />Development Moratorium <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />Pursuant to the City Council direction, the City undertake a planning study to <br />determine the impact of boathouses on the use of shoreland parcels; to detennine <br />if any additional regulations are necessary in order to construct and utilize <br />boathouses; and to determine and resolve any conflicts that may exist between the <br />City's Zoning Regulations and the City's Shoreland Development Regulations <br />relating to the location and use of boathouses. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />The City will conduct iIiformationallI1eetings with the Planning Commission to <br />review proposed amendments to the City's Official Controls. <br /> <br />3. The City will conduct public hearings in order to obtain public input prior to the <br />adoption of amendments to the City's official controls. <br /> <br />4. Pending the completion of the public hearings and the adoption of amendments, if <br />any, to its official controls, the Arden Hills City Council has detennined that it <br />would be in the public interest to impose a development moratorium on the <br />construction of boathouses on shoreland parcels. <br /> <br />5. In order to achieve the above objective, there is hereby imposed a limited <br />development momtorium pursuant to the provisions ofMS 462.355, subd. 4 on all <br />shoreland property within the City of Arden Hills. <br /> <br />6. During the term of this development moratorium, no boathouses shall be <br />constructed nOr shall alterations be made to existing boathouses. <br /> <br />7. This moratorium shall be in effect for twelve (12) months from the date of <br />publication, unless tenninated or extended by action of the City Council. <br /> <br />Effective Date: <br /> <br />This ordinance shall be effective the day following its publication <br />
