Ramsey County Public Works Special Use Permit Amendment Attachment 3: Proposed Sheriff Pattol Substation Use As a replacement of the patrol station cmrendy located east of Victoria along County Road E in Shoreview, the new facility will house: Administrative, supervisory, and clerical spaces Investigative Unit offices and storage Volunteers in Public Service (VIPS) offices Evidence processing and storage space Patrol operations base Associated support functions including conference, locker, lunch, records storage, and exercise rooms Vehicle storage space (enclosed) "-', . The facility will be operational 24 homs per day. The public will use the facility to meet with department personnel as necessary during reporting and investigation periods, Approximately 12 parking spaces for visitors are provided. Serving as a base of operations for street patrols, officers will begin and end patrol shifts at this location, Patrols will return periodically to address paperwork, process evidence, and conduct interviews of suspected offenders, Offenders will not be at this facility normally for more than 1 homo Although officers will not typically be at the patrol station at the initiation of a run requiring use of emergency equipment (lights and siren), there will be occurrences requiring such, During these events, emergency equipment will be used to obtain right-of-way. Space for a communications (dispatch) center is included and will be "shelled out" at initial construction pending confirmation of systems and equipment, Communications for the Sheriff will not require a large antenna or tower. A separate building along the western boundary of the Public Works property will house light administrative functions and enclosed vehicle storage for the Sheriffs department Water Patrol division. .
