This primarily involves coordinating the . <br />approval of premises permits, monitoring trade area spending, and monitoring the 10% <br />contribution requirement. <br /> <br />PREMISES PERMIT APPROVALS <br /> <br />The following organizations have submitted applications for premises permits: <br /> <br />I. 621 Foundation for Pot 0' Gold <br />2. St. Mary's Romanian Orthodox Church for Pot 0' Gold <br />3. Minnesota/USA Wrestling for the Blue Fox <br /> <br />Staff has received comments from the Light Brigade requesting that the City deny the premises <br />permit for Minnesota/USA Wrestling because it would displace the Light Brigade's current <br />charitable gambling operation. Assuming that Minnesota/USA Wrestling background check is <br />satisfactory, the City Attorney has indicated that there is no basis for denying the permit. They <br />will be required to comply with the City's 10% spending requirement and trade area spending <br />requirements. <br /> <br />TRADE AREA SPENDING <br /> <br />In the course offamiliarizing myself with charitable gambling, I did notice that our trade area <br />spending is lower than it could be. State law allows cities to require that a certain percentage of <br />net charitable gambling proceeds be spent with the trade area.
