<br />Memo to City Council <br />City Hall Update- Landscape Options <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />II. TURF (area by the flag pole in front and the area behind the main lobby) <br /> <br />1. Remove existing turf, bring in black dirt and install sod and an irrigation system. <br /> <br />COST: $27,500 for sod and an irrigation system. The irrigation system would <br />come with a one year warranty. <br /> <br />2. Remove existing turf and plant perennial flowers. The areas to be planted would <br />be professionally designed. The actual planting could be a possible community <br />wide project - "Volunteer to Plant at City Hall Day". <br /> <br />COST: $7,500 for 400 flowers, compost and removal of existing turf. No <br />warranty on the plants if "we" do the planting. <br /> <br />3. Leave as is. <br /> <br />COST: None <br /> <br />III. PRAIRIE GRASS <br /> <br />We are currently planning to renew our maintenance contract with Minnesota Native <br />Landscape, the vendor that was hired to correct the problems with the original <br />installation of the prairie grass. This will be a three year contract that will include <br />the first controlled burn of the prairie grass. It is staff's recommendation that any <br />future decision on this be delayed until 2007. <br /> <br />COST: $7,500 for a three year contact. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br />
