New Brighton's
coverage area would essentially be doubled, and along with their preference
for serving their own community first, we might not necessarily get any
better service than we are now. On the flip sidet having the Ramsey County
Sheriff's patrol station in our community should result in increased
patrolling, at least along Hwy 96 and Hamline. Just their presence alone
will have a positive affect, whether or not we continue with their services
or not. Another question to ask is} does Ramsey County Sheriff offer
different levels of service to different communities? If so, do
communities pay more for extra service? Or does each community pay the
same rate? Maybe all we need to do is to better communicate to the Ramsey
County Sheriff what we expect and to let them know what our specific needs
are. Every community has their own specific problem areas and perhaps
Ramsey County Sheriff is willing to go the extra effort if we make those
concerns known. On the other hand, Ramsey County Sheriff services many
communities. Perhaps too many. And maybe they cannot adequately address
our specific concerns. So there are many things to consider.

Sherri

t--- Original Message -----
'om: <Aplikowski@aol.com>
'0: <leusl@comcast.net>
Sent, Monday, November 03, 2003 5,02 PM
Subject: Re: Hamline Avenue Traffic

> Sherrie
> I have just "readlr your long note and I will "study" it very carefully and
> discuss it with Council.
